Location: The Well, Wells Way, Camberwell, SE5 7SY

Hours: 21 hours a week

Pay: £24,458 - £27,353 per annum, pro rata, including London weighting (depending on experience)

Accountable to: Chief Executive

We are a Christian charity offering an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual with excellent communication skills to be the main contact person with our key international partners, reviewing and collating all information related to our International Support work, and providing capacity-building support to our partners as appropriate.

In the UK, through our Esteem project, we deliver relationships and sex education to young people and training to youth workers, teachers and parents. Internationally, alongside relationships and sex education, we also deliver HIV prevention and care programmes, working primarily through the Church as an agent of change.

We provide grants for our key international partners based in Ukraine, Belarus, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Uganda. Examples of the work we support include a project in Zimbabwe where women and girls engaged in sex work are trained to become sexual health peer educators to other sex workers, and are given the opportunity to gain business skills to provide them with a route out of sex work. We also support a project in Nigeria that mobilises the Church to deliver HIV awareness outreaches in their communities and educate children through Kids’ Clubs.

The role will involve regular contact with the leaders of the work in these countries, managing the project proposal application process, collating reports and ensuring compliance with our grant agreements as well as praying regularly with and for them and feeding back to the rest of the team, so they can do likewise.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent organisation and administration skills with the ability to analyse proposals and reports and write high quality clear summaries of the information provided. A high level of attention to detail is required. As well as having strong writing skills, you will be an excellent verbal communicator who is culturally sensitive and able to build strong relationships with our international partners over email, through prayer and via online meetings.

As an active and committed Christian, providing support to our international partners, (all of whom are Christian organisations) this role will give you the opportunity to integrate your Christian faith and be sensitive to its various expressions across cultures and denominations.

You should be able to work well independently as well as being an effective team member, working closely with the CEO and Fundraising Manager.

We are a small team with an international reach so this is a great opportunity for you if you would like to:

  • Have a significant impact on the development of a charity
  • Have the opportunity to travel and gain experience in the field of international development

acet UK is an Equal Opportunities Employer and this role requires the post holder to have a Christian faith as an occupational requirement.
