Missed the October 15th deadline to spend the old pound coins? Why not donate them?
On Sunday 15th October 2017, the old round, pound coins will no longer be legal tender, being replaced by the new 12-sided coin. You won't be able to spend the old coins in the shops, but if you do find old pound coins in your piggy bank, then you can still put them to use by donating them.
You can do this in a number of ways:
- take the coins to a bank and ask to pay them into the acet UK account (Barclays, 40871575, 20-27-48) with '£1for£1' as a reference
- cash them in at your bank and donate the equivalent amount online here, writing £1 for £1 in the message box
- send them to us at acet UK, Abbey House, Abbey Green, Chester, CH1 2JH.
