National Children’s Day

Since 1954 the United Nations has celebrated the importance of children in our world.

In the UK we mark this date on May 14th as it is felt that this is a perfect time for children to get out into their neighbourhoods and be in nature at the start of summer.

Health for All

Racial identity project

Rachel has also been working with Michelle on our new racial identity project, by developing sessions and materials for the Primary part of this.

SEND work in UK primary schools

Rachel has been busy creating materials  and piloting sessions for our new Esteem Primary Relationships Education programme. One very rewarding part of this has been the work she has done with a group of children in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) unit.

Beaded Anklet Project in South Africa

“When things go wrong as they sometimes will, don’t quit” is what the poem tells us, and working with the girls in the Beaded Anklet Project has brought up some very difficult challenges, but we’re delighted neither the team nor the girls have quit!

Challenging misconceptions in Nigeria

2022 was a year of expansion for ACET Nigeria’s Esteem clubs. The team trained 89 new volunteer educators in the Esteem programme. 31 new Esteem clubs were set up as a result, to support teenagers in building healthy self-esteem, positive relationships, and good sexual health.
