Could you be a Big Give pledger?

Apologies for mentioning Christmas so early in the year! But we are looking for ‘pledgers’ for this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge. Paul who has kindly been a pledger for us before explains:

Racial identity project

Rachel has also been working with Michelle on our new racial identity project, by developing sessions and materials for the Primary part of this.

SEND work in UK primary schools

Rachel has been busy creating materials  and piloting sessions for our new Esteem Primary Relationships Education programme. One very rewarding part of this has been the work she has done with a group of children in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) unit.

Beaded Anklet Project in South Africa

“When things go wrong as they sometimes will, don’t quit” is what the poem tells us, and working with the girls in the Beaded Anklet Project has brought up some very difficult challenges, but we’re delighted neither the team nor the girls have quit!

Challenging misconceptions in Nigeria

2022 was a year of expansion for ACET Nigeria’s Esteem clubs. The team trained 89 new volunteer educators in the Esteem programme. 31 new Esteem clubs were set up as a result, to support teenagers in building healthy self-esteem, positive relationships, and good sexual health.

Outreach with men in Zimbabwe

You may be now very familiar with the main focus of our Zimbabwean partner Nehemiah Project’s Shining Star programme. Their mission is to empower girls and women, who have been driven to sex work, to be in control of their health and to be equipped to generate other income streams.

Safer Internet Day

This year the theme of Safer Internet Day (7th February) is, ‘Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online’ with a focus on listening to children’s voices in order to make their online experience better and safer.

International Day of Zero Tolerance to FGM

Paper cuts!

You KNOW how painful they are right? They absolutely kill initially, then throb for several days.

Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week

More girls have been killed in the last 50 years, purely because they were girls, than men were killed in all the battles of the 20th century[1].

I’ll say that again.

National HIV Testing Week

Do you know the answer?

Vishi has only had sex once and knows that Samil was a virgin too, so knows there’s no point in getting tested for HIV.
