acet UK is offering an exciting opportunity for a Schools Worker, who would like to use their skills to support young people in making wise and healthy choices around relationships and sex.

We are a Christian charity with a mission to promote positive relationships, healthy self-esteem and good sexual health. We equip young people to make wise, positive and healthy choices about relationships and sex, in a culture in which relationships and sex are often viewed in unhealthy and unhelpful terms. We equip and inspire individuals, schools, churches and organisations.

In the UK, through our Esteem project, we deliver RSE (relationships and sex education) to young people and training to youth workers, teachers, parents, churches and other organisations.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and have the ability, vision and passion to strengthen our existing work as well as the initiative and creativity to significantly contribute to our development. They will deliver sessions in schools, alternative education provision, and other youth settings, predominantly in Southwark, to young people (11-18 years old) on topics such as self-esteem, body image, relationships, respect, sex, sexual health, the media’s portrayal of relationships and online safety. Training will be provided.

They will also lead in the delivery and further development of our new, Racial Identity course and our Girls’ and Boys’ Project, a course of sessions, supporting those at risk of abuse and of perpetrating it.

There is an occupational requirement that the worker is a practicing Christian, given the nature of the work with Churches and Christian organisations and the need to serve as a role model.

This role is suitable for job sharing.

We welcome applications from black and minority ethnic communities and men, who are underrepresented in this field. We also welcome Schools Workers who may be interested in sessional roles.

To apply, please contact info@acet-uk.com for an application pack.

Closing date for receipt of applications: Midday, 30th December 2022N.B. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. In order to avoid disappointment, please submit your application as early as possible.

Interviews are likely to be held in the week starting the 9th of January 2023

A DBS Enhanced criminal record check will be required for this post.
