acet UK is offering an exciting opportunity for a Schools Worker, who would like to use their skills to support young people in making wise and healthy choices around relationships and sex.
We are a Christian charity with a mission to promote positive relationships, healthy self-esteem and good sexual health. We equip young people to make wise, positive and healthy choices about relationships and sex, in a culture in which relationships and sex are often viewed in unhealthy and unhelpful terms. We equip and inspire individuals, schools, churches and organisations.
In the UK, through our Esteem project, we deliver RSE (relationships and sex education) to young people and training to youth workers, teachers, parents, churches and other organisations.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and have the ability, vision and passion to strengthen our existing work as well as the initiative and creativity to significantly contribute to our development. They will deliver sessions in schools, alternative education provision, and other youth settings, predominantly in Southwark and other local authorities, to young people (5-11 years old) on topics such as self-esteem, body image, relationships, respect, the media’s portrayal of relationships and online safety. Training will be provided.
There is an occupational requirement that the worker is a practicing Christian, given the nature of the work with Churches and Christian organisations and the need to serve as a role model. This role is suitable for job sharing.
We welcome applications from black and minority ethnic communities and men, who are underrepresented in this field. We also welcome Schools Workers who may be interested in sessional roles.
To apply for the role, please read the job description, ethos and values, and statement of faith and then click here to complete the application form. As the form has a few questions that will need longer answers, it’s a good idea to look at the questions first and prepare your answers in Word before completing the form. Unfortunately, the form does not let you save it as you go along.
