World Children’s Day is a passionate call for justice, compassion and action, for individuals and organizations alike, to work together for brighter futures.
Motivated by a mission to equip and inspire all those who work with, or care for, children, we reached 85,000 young people last year, through scores of esteem trained educators, delivering relationships and sex education that built self-worth, confidence and courage in them, both here and abroad.
Life-changing work is best understood through the voices of those whose lives have been completely turned around.
“Imagine if you couldn’t understand what people’s facial expressions meant, so you couldn’t tell if they were being friendly or angry with you. That’s the reality for 10-year-old Bradley, who has ASD and ADHD.” With compassionate intervention from acet UK, Bradley received the tools and support needed to better navigate social situations. According to his teaching assistant, “He’s now able to spot when someone is trying to be kind. That’s helped him grow in confidence and enjoy his school life much more.”
“If no one tells you about the blood, then you start your periods when you are only 9, it can be terrifying.” Phoebe’s early experiences were overwhelming until acet UK’s lessons gave her and her classmates clarity, reassurance, and understanding. As Ali, her teaching assistant shared, “The difference in her confidence is incredible. She now asks questions, supports her friends, and knows she’s not alone.”
In Ukraine, ACET’s trauma support helped children like Unashe find safety and stability in turmoil. “The sessions made me feel stronger and less afraid. I know I can get through anything now.” The programme continues to bring much-needed emotional relief and resilience in areas hit hardest by conflict
